Partner Communications Co. Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: PTNR), a leading Israeli communications operator, says it has begun the commercial phase and acceleration of its fiber-optic network deployment following a pilot stage.
Partner's fiber-optic network investment will enable it to maintain technological leadership in the market, says the company. Partner will provide improved internet speeds in Israel and additional services, such as enhanced TV services, through the fiber-optic network.
Over the past few months Partner has increased its fiber roll out in various cities throughout Israel, reaching tens of thousands of households, the company says. The roll out announcement comes after a report issued by the company regarding the deployment of an independent fixed-line infrastructure using fiber optics on June 21, 2016.
This roll out is an expansion of the existing deployment that includes thousands of kilometers of fiber-optic cable, with a presence in business centers and several cities nationwide. According to Partner, the company's deployment efforts include plans to double its household reach by year end.
