APRIL 26, 2007 -- PES Energize, the telecommunications division of Pulaski Energy Systems, has deployed ETI Software Solutions Inc.'s (search for ETI Software Solutions) Triad énConcert billing system to manage, provision, and bill for telecommunication services over its FTTP network.

PES Energize handles the utility's telecommunications operation, offering telephone, high-speed Internet, and video, including basic, expanded, and premium channels. PES Energize required a billing system that was independent from the existing utility billing system.

Built upon the ETI's Linux-based provisioning platform, énConcert is a billing and customer care software offering designed to support all aspects of delivering broadband services. It controls and manages customer-premises devices such as set-top and FTTP devices and automates provisioning of each FTTP device to instantly activate the correct services. énConcert also generates an independent statement for telecommunications services and manages receivables, collections and payments, according to the company.

"Once we decided we needed a telecommunications billing system, we wanted something that did more than just generate monthly statements to send our customers," says Wes Kelley, vice president and chief marketing officer, PES Energize. "Triad énConcert helps us manage our FTTP ecosystem, seamlessly connecting the customer premises with the customer service representative, automatically provisioning services and eliminating error-prone manual processes."

"As the number of connected home devices and services grow, it becomes imperative to provide a billing and customer management system based upon the subscriber's home and their needs," says Peter M. Pifer, president and CEO, ETI. "énConcert is built around ETI's 15 years of experience in managing devices in the home with services delivered by fiber to the home. We also have the world's largest inventory of field-proven interfaces using IP, HFC, and satellite network delivery of triple-play services."

ETI says that énConcert offers completely integrated billing capabilities using ETI's out-of-the-box capabilities or one of the client's choice. The product prepares bills for all services and provides credit check, payment processing, accounts receivable, and collections functionality. Additionally, it can manage and deliver prepaid services ordered by subscribers, which eliminates bill rendering and accounts receivable for this customer segment ETI says.

As Tennessee's oldest municipal electric system, and the first system in the state to receive power from the Tennessee Valley Authority, Pulaski Electric System serves nearly 15,000 customers and operates more than 1,200 miles of electric line throughout Giles County. Through PES Energize's FTTH network, nearly 5,000 homes and businesses have access to communication services.
