JUNE 14, 2007 -- Blue Valley Tele-Communications, headquartered in Home, KS, will use the Tellabs (search for Tellabs) DynamicHome product line and leverage Tellabs Global Services to bring IPTV to its customers. The new equipment also will enable the carrier to speed Internet access.

"Our customers want reliable, affordable video, so we're improving our network to meet these demands," said Terry O'Neil, general manager of Blue Valley Tele-Communications. "With Tellabs' extensive IPTV knowledge, we can deliver the latest blockbusters faster and more efficiently -- improving the user experience."

To provide faster speeds for downloading videos, Blue Valley is migrating from BPON to GPON technology. Tellabs Global Services helped Blue Valley plan and build the new network, including integration of new and existing technology. Blue Valley will use the new Tellabs 1150 multiservice access platform and the Tellabs 8830 multiservice router to deliver personalized entertainment packages to individual homes.

"Blue Valley's IPTV service showcases how quickly and economically scalable, high-quality IPTV can be deployed," said Rob Pullen, senior vice president of Tellabs Global Services. "By implementing Tellabs' best practices and state-of-the-art equipment, Blue Valley can deliver an improved entertainment experience comparable to the leap from standard to high-definition TV."
