JANUARY 23, 2008 -- AT&T Inc. (search for AT&T) has announced plans to offer AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Max in February 2008. The new tier, available exclusively to AT&T U-verse customers across the country, will deliver up to 10 Mbits/sec downstream and up to 1.5 Mbits/sec upstream.

AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Max will be available for $55 a month when bundled with U-verse TV. Installation is included for new U-verse customers, and existing U-verse Internet customers can upgrade their package at any time without additional installation costs or appointments, the carrier says.

Customers also will receive free unlimited connectivity at more than 10,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hot spots as part of the Max tier, and wireless home networking will be included as well.

"With our new Max tier, customers will get more available speed, at a great value, in addition to enhanced features that are integrated with AT&T U-verse TV," said Bob Bickerstaff, AT&T vice president of data products.
