Tempo Communications boosts portfolio with Kingfisher International acquisition

Company enhances its fiber installation, maintenance capabilities across the communications and other vertical segments.

Tempo Communications has acquired Kingfisher International, an Australian based manufacturer of handheld fiber optic testers, accelerating the company’s growth in the fiber installation and maintenance sectors across telecom, datacom, wireless, electrical and defense industries.

Kingfisher is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia with global distribution across 70 countries.

“This acquisition will enable us to expand our product portfolio and provide our customers with a broader range of innovative solutions for installing, testing, and measuring fiber optic networks,” said Jason Butchko, president of Tempo Communications.

The company will add Kingfisher technology to their growing portfolio of professional fiber optic tools for technicians. Its current product portfolio includes Fusion Splicers and Cleavers, Optical Power Meters, Fiber Identifiers, Loss Testers and OTDRs.

Tempo has continued to expand its product line through targeted acquisitions in the fiber and Ethernet segments. It has established itself as a player in the test and measurement solutions market, serving customers from the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.

One of its other key acquisitions came in 2019, when Tempo Communications, re-established the Tempo brand of communications test and measurement equipment by acquiring Greenlee Communications and Greenlee Communications Ltd. from Emerson.
