Plano, TX, USA ― SANWA Technologies, Inc. (“SANWA Technologies”), a leader in technology and expertise for optical fiber connectivity products, announced today that it has acquired CopperOn Company MEA FZCO in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The management teams of SANWA Technologies are aligned in their belief that the acquisition will be strategic, create synergies and bring better value to our respective customers and employees.

“We are very pleased with the acquisition of CopperOn. We are convinced that this acquisition will contribute to the further growth of the SANWA Group on two fronts. The first is geographic expansion, as currently we only cover the NA, LATAM, EU, and APAC markets.  However, with this acquisition, we will now be able to add the Middle East / North Africa (MENA) to that list. We see this as a great opportunity to be able to offer our products all over the world. The second is product expansion, as while we have always had a strong fiber optic product line, CopperOn, as the name implies, is strong in the Copper Cable product line. We believe that by combining the strengths of the two companies, we will be able to achieve significant synergies. The SANWA Group celebrated its 75th anniversary last year and will continue to grow and evolve, aiming for 80 and 100 years in business.” said Yasuo Ishii, Chairman of SANWA Technologies and President & CEO of SANWA Denki Kogyo.

This acquisition will complete the purchase process that began in 2021 with the acquisition of Fiberon Technologies, Inc. by SANWA Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd. (“SANWA Denki Kogyo”, a parent company of SANWA Technologies), with the goal of creating a stronger and more diversified company that can better serve our customers and partners. This latest acquisition will also expand our product offerings and allow us to enter new markets. We are excited about the opportunities this combination presents and are confident that it will be beneficial to all our stakeholders.” said Mark Johnson, President & Managing Director of SANWA Technologies, Inc.

Paul Joseph Titus Founder/Managing Director of the Copperon Company MEA FZCO added “We are excited to join SANWA Technologies and to be able to strengthen our existing structured cabling solutions for data center customers worldwide by leveraging the SANWA Group's more than 75 years of experience in Fiber Optic innovation and engineering.”

The transaction is expected to fully close during the current quarter, subject to regulatory approvals and customary opening conditions.
