Chief Telecom to boost data center interconnect services with Coriant
Optical transport systems specialist Coriant says it will supply its hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport Platform to Chief Telecom, which offers data center interconnect (DCI) services in Taiwan. The platform will enable Chief Telecom to increase capacity via 100-Gbps DWDM coherent transmission.
Chief Telecom offers global connectivity and network services to enterprise and multinational corporations. The addition of the hiT 7300 packet-optical transport system will help Chief Telecom support delivery of cloud-optimized services, Coriant says.
“The region-wide growth of cloud computing, video, and other bandwidth-intensive applications is having a profound impact on inter-data center traffic and creating network design and capacity planning challenges for providers of DCI connectivity services,” said Petri Markkanen, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific, Coriant. “The hiT 7300 is an important part of Coriant's comprehensive DCI solutions portfolio, with the scalability, flexibility, and carrier-class reliability to address these challenges and cost-efficiently expand capacity to satisfy evolving customer demands.”
Coriant also will supply the Coriant®Transport Network Management System (TNMS) as well as a suite of support services that will include optical core network planning, design, installation, and maintenance.
