DC BLOX announces three new hyperscale data centers

Nov. 19, 2024
The new sites will join the company’s East Atlanta campus to offer up to 160MW of capacity.

On November 14, DC BLOX announced that it is developing three new hyperscale edge node sites in the Southeastern United States. The newly announced sites will be built in Montgomery, Alabama; North Augusta, South Carolina; and Huntsville, Alabama, and will join a previously announced Atlanta East campus located in Conyers, Georgia.

The new data centers are part of DC BLOX’s expanding Southeastern footprint, which also includes a dark fiber ring around metro Atlanta. Combined, the four new sites will deliver an initial 25 total MW with a total potential capacity of 160MW.

DC BLOX CEO Jeff Uphues said the continued expansion is a testament to the soundness of the company’s strategy and its understanding of the Southeastern market.

“With each new site, we are building critical digital infrastructure that enables hyperscale companies to operate at the edge while benefiting from the Southeast’s favorable economics and rapid growth,” said Uphues in a press release.

DC BLOX secured capital, including a green loan, for the data center projects earlier this year.
