AAON announces $174.5 million liquid cooling data center order

Oct. 28, 2024
The company is continuing to invest in production capacity to meet market demands.

On October 25, HVAC solutions company AAON, Inc. announced that it has received approximately $174.5 million worth of orders from a single data center customer. AAON will provide the customer with a custom-designed thermal management system that supports liquid cooling deployment and reports that the equipment will be manufactured under its BASX brand and will be mostly produced and delivered in the first half of 2025.

Matt Tobolski, AAON President and COO, said the order highlights AAON’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities and its expertise in data center cooling.

“Since BASX joined AAON in 2021, we have strengthened our collective position as leaders in this rapidly growing market,” said Tobolski in a press release. “Capitalizing on this highly innovative liquid cooling solution reflects our leadership, engineering proficiencies, and ability to provide customer-centric, industry-leading solutions for the market. It showcases the solution-minded approach of our team and the strong value we provide to crafting unique, efficient data center solutions.”

AAON CEO Gary Fields said the order is a milestone for the company and shows its commitment to invest in production capacity.

“We view these orders as a fraction of a much larger pipeline of opportunity in which we are committed to capitalizing on,” said Fields in the same press release.
