OakGate CD280-G5 verifies the performance and functionality of CXL 2.0 memory devices.

On October 1, protocol test and measurement solutions manufacturer Teledyne LeCroy announced a new testing solution: the OakGate CD280-G5 CXL validation test for PCIe 5.0-based Compute Express Link (CXL) memory expansion devices.

CXL is an open standard interconnect supported by PCIe 5.0 that enables enhanced communication between the host processor and devices. The new solution verifies performance and functionality of CXL 2.0 memory devices, which Teledyne LeCroy reports will accelerate time-to-market and ensure high reliability.

Siva Makineni, vice president of Advanced Memory Solutions at Micron, reported that the new validation platform will enable broader industry adoption of CXL memory solutions.

“Micron’s collaboration with Teledyne LeCroy has helped mature the CXL compliance test ecosystem, in addition to strengthening our own CXL innovation and efforts to deliver the Micron CZ120 memory expansion module, the industry’s first CXL-compliant device in production,” said Makineni in a press release. “Teledyne LeCroy’s CXL validation capabilities are playing an important role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our developing CXL 2.0 solutions.”

Teledyne LeCroy reports that OakGate CD280-G5, equipped with Endeavor validation software, offers capabilities like discovery and enumeration of CXL memory devices, execution of common memory traffic patterns and workloads, and more.
