On August 21, Edged Energy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the first of three data centers on its 168 MW campus in Atlanta: Edged Atlanta. This is the company’s first North American data center.
Edged Energy reports that the campus is designed for high-density AI workloads and is equipped with waterless cooling and ultra-efficient energy systems. The first building offers 27 MW of capacity.
Bryant Farland, Edged Energy CEO, said Atlanta is an ideal location for the campus.
“The project sets a new standard for sustainable development and represents a $1.69B economic investment in the region, bringing hundreds of jobs and millions in funding for Atlanta public schools, the local government, and important city services,” said Farland in a press release. “Together, we are creating projects for positive impact and supporting the regio’s thriving digital economy.”
Edged is currently developing other data centers in cities across the U.S., including Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Columbus, and Phoenix.
