Huber+Suhner has introduced the IANOS fiber management system at Data Centre World in London. The system is designed to accommodate Base-2, 8, 12, and 24 pre-terminated fiber cable systems with what the company asserts is market-leading density, installation speed, handling ease, and scalability for data center network applications.

In particular, the system is designed to support network upgrades from 10G serial connections to 40G and 100G parallel optics.

The system is modular. Technicians can add modules of different sizes and capabilities as their requirements dictate and evolve. Color coding of components and universal adapters lessen the chance of human error, the company adds.

"This is undoubtedly our most advanced and adaptable fiber management system to date," said Urs Ryffel, COO Fiber Optics at Huber+Suhner. "We chose the name IANOS – derived from Janus, the Roman deity that looks both to the past and the future – as it reflects the system's ability to both improve existing data centers when retrofitted and provides the most effective, efficient solution possible for new builds."
