Equinix expands access to China via Datang Telecom Group partnership

Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Datang Telecom Group in China. Datang Telecom, which possesses a cross-regional internet data center (IDC) license in Beijing and Shanghai, will become Equinix's service delivery partner in China.

Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ: EQIX) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Datang Telecom Group in China. Datang Telecom, which possesses a cross-regional internet data center (IDC) license in Beijing and Shanghai, will become Equinix's service delivery partner in China.

Datang will offer Equinix customers in China a range of interconnection services, including Equinix Cloud Exchange. Equinix will continue to operate three International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers in Shanghai via the partnership.

Founded in 1999, state-owned Datang is active in telecom equipment manufacturing and earns more than $3 billion in annual revenue.

"By combining the strength of both companies, we will offer customers a full suite of value-added services with the same levels of service quality Equinix is known for throughout the world."
