Telia Carrier provides connectivity to two QTS data centers

May 18, 2021
The presence of Telia Carrier’s terabit-scale transmission gear and core routers expands the connectivity options at both QTS campuses.

QTS Realty Trust (NYSE: QTS) says that Telia Carrier now offers connectivity services in QTS's data centers in Piscataway, NJ, and Irving, TX. The presence of Telia Carrier’s terabit-scale transmission gear and core routers expands the connectivity options at both QTS campuses.

For example, in New Jersey, the QTS New Jersey Network Access Point (NJ NAP) will see its connectivity ecosystem expand, benefiting such users as network carriers and enterprises, including those serving the financial services market. The NJ NAP’s connectivity options include an array of fiber networks, transport networks, cloud access networks, and internet exchanges. The site offers direct access to 10 transatlantic submarine cables including the new AEC-2.

In Texas, the addition of Telia Carrier provides an option for diverse long-haul routes across the Southwest and into Mexico as well as IP, cloud, Ethernet, DWDM and DDoS services. The two new deployments follow the establishment of Telia Carrier connections to QTS facilities in Chicago, Miami, Hillsboro and Atlanta as well as the QTS Richmond NAP (see "Telia Carrier deploys node in QTS’s Richmond data center").

"Digital transformation drives new enterprise requirements for differentiated global IP and transport networks that exceed customer expectations," said Ivo Pascucci, vice president, sales, at Telia Carrier. "Telia Carrier and QTS are aligned in our commitment to provide scale and resiliency – now in seven key markets – serving accelerating customer demand for communications infrastructure and services."

"We are pleased to continue the expansion of the world's Number 1 ranked internet backbone network across our highly connected data center footprint," said Sean Baillie, executive vice president, connectivity strategy at QTS. "Customers will benefit from Telia Carrier's new 34 terabit systems that can bypass legacy carrier hotels and connect directly in QTS's mega data centers giving customers scalable access to diverse connectivity solutions."
