Zenlayer chooses Juniper Networks for data center network upgrades
Bare metal cloud, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and managed services provider Zenlayer has tapped Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) to supply systems for a data center network upgrade effort. Zenlayer, an existing customer, is using Juniper Networks’ MX Series Universal Routing Platforms in the initial project phase, reports the technology provider.
With headquarters offices in Los Angeles, Mumbai, Shanghai, and Singapore, Zenlayer provides a variety of services via a global footprint of over 180 nodes across six continents. The company now is targeting Southeast Asia, South America, Russia, the Middle East, and North Africa as market of opportunity and is increasing the capabilities of its networks accordingly. In addition to the initial MX Series deployments, Juniper Networks says there is the potential to replace routers from other vendors in succeeding phases. Meanwhile, Zenlayer is leveraging Juniper Networks’ QFX Series of data center switches and the SRX Series of firewalls as well.
The enhancements will see Zenlayer take advantage of segment routing traffic engineering to schedule traffic, with the support of SR-TE and multiprotocol label switching. The service provider also will benefit from telemetry capabilities, better routing and forwarding table support, as well as stronger access control lists and physical interface device resources, according to Juniper Networks. Meanwhile, the automation capabilities of the Juniper Networks platforms will enable Zenlayer to explore increased adoption of automated and AI-driven capabilities.
“With our sharp focus on only providing top-quality cloud services, Zenlayer has built a large customer base and developed a strong reputation in just six years. Close cooperation with our technology partners has been essential and we are delighted to have been able to successfully upgrade and expand our global networking infrastructure to accommodate this growth,” commented Ansan Chen, vice president, product and platform, at Zenlayer. “The strong hardware and technical support from Juniper Networks have been crucial toward reducing network transmission delays while maintaining high levels of performance and reliability. In addition, the rich routing features and powerful automation capabilities have also provided a strong foundation for agile operations and our continued business growth. We look forward to building on our deep and cooperative relationship with Juniper Networks, which will be a win-win result for our future development.”
Partnership with EdgeConneX
Meanwhile, Zenlayer also has partnered with edge data center services provider EdgeConneX to offer its edge cloud and networking services to enterprises that leverage EdgeConneX’s global data center footprint of more than 40 data centers in more than 30 markets.
“We are excited to partner with EdgeConneX to create improved user experiences and lower latency for their customers,” said Joe Zhu, Zenlayer founder and CEO. “EdgeConneX data centers offer the perfect platform for us to offer our edge cloud services thanks to their global locations and extensive connectivity. We look forward to expanding access for digital businesses in underserved and emerging markets.”
