Alcatel-Lucent 1830 PSS Rate Adaptive 100G/200G Solution

March 17, 2015
The 260CX2 is a single package, rate-adaptive solution that provides 100G, but with the touch of a button can be upgraded to 200G. The software configurability of this product ensures that double the capacity can be achieved without investment in new hardware.
The new module is the first to provide 200G transport in the same package as 100G. It saves cost, space, and power for metro/regional applications. This is important for metro operators as traffic demand and demand for 100G client interfaces are increasing. Judge's Comment.

The 260CX2 is a single package, rate-adaptive solution that provides 100G, but with the touch of a button can be upgraded to 200G. The software configurability of this product ensures that double the capacity can be achieved without investment in new hardware. This lays the framework for future SDN implementation.

A single card can be deployed in either long-haul (100G mode) or metro/regional (200G mode) applications. Fiber capacity can grow from 8.8 terabits to 17.65 terabits. Flexgrid hardware allows more wavelengths to be squeezed into a fixed spectrum for a system capacity of 24 terabits.
