Tektronix says the DPO70000SX Series Performance Oscilloscopes provide the industry’s lowest-noise real-time acquisitions using the company’s patented Asynchronous Time Interleaving (ATI) technology. It is now with 70 GHz and 50 GHz bandwidth options.

The series' compact and scalable package enables flexible system configurations that reduce cable length for low-noise acquisitions, Tektronix explains. The system provides the most accurate real-time performance for ultra-bandwidth applications like coherent optical, radar, high-speed serial data communications, or leading-edge research, the company asserts.

An all-new master sample clock design provides low sample clock jitter of 65 fsRMS. Combine this performance with the low-noise performance achieved with ATI, and the DPO70000 instruments set new levels of jitter noise floor (JNF) performance, Tektronix adds. The JNF at 300 mVFS is 123 fsRMS, which the company says rivals lower bandwidth instruments.

To further enhance signal fidelity, the DPO70000SX oscilloscopes use a compact 5.25-inch form factor so technicians can position the instrument very close to the device under test (DUT). That means shorter cable lengths and cleaner signals. The low height, meanwhile, means each unit fits in a single 3U rackmount space, or two oscilloscopes can be stacked in the same space as a single standard bench oscilloscope.

Judge's comment: "This appears to be the finest real-time oscilloscope on the market today. This is increasingly useful as transmission speeds increase to 56 GBaud and beyond."
