Test and measurement specialist VeEX Inc. has closed two acquisitions of companies in Eastern Europe with expertise in fiber-optic test equipment and software. Terms of the deals to buy Agizer and Optixsoft were not disclosed.

Lithuanian company Agizer develops and manufactures laboratory and field fiber-optic test and measurement products that leverage the company’s expertise in optical time domain reflectometers (OTDRs), optical power meters, light sources, and Physical Layer optical products. It offers a suite of software products under the Fiberizer name.

Optixsoft, headquartered in Minsk, Belarus, offers system and mobile software for OTDR analysis, as well as cloud-based software platforms for managing fiber-optic test activities.

The two firms were sister companies.

“We are very pleased with this strategic acquisition, as it will continue to strengthen our position in the optical Physical Layer testing market. This is one of the areas we have been investing and adding resources, as we see tremendous growth and opportunities” said Cyrille Morelle, president and CEO of VeEX Inc.

“We are happy to join the VeEX family, a very open and active company. This acquisition will allow us to participate in the future growth of VeEX,” said Mike Ziuzin, general manager of Optixsoft and Agizer.

VeEX has dipped into the M&A pool previously, having acquired Sunrise Telecom in 2013 (see "VeEX to buy Sunrise Telecom assets").
