MetroNet Communications Corp. (Calgary, AB) completed its acquisition of Rogers Telecom Inc. (Toronto) to increase the reach and development of its fiber-optic network in Canada. Upon closing and subject to working capital and other adjustments, Rogers Communications Inc. (Toronto), Rogers Telecom?s parent company, received 12.5 million shares of MetroNet Class B non-voting common stock and $600 million in cash.
