November 21, 2005 Ottawa, Canada -- Meriton Networks today announced that it has completed its acquisition of Mahi Networks. The acquisition unites Meriton's high-speed optical networking systems with Mahi's reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) platforms.

Meriton says its AON (Agile Optical Networking) portfolio now brings together a series of "best-in-class" products under a unified management system, allowing network operators to flexibly build-out optical networks, including a choice of technology (OEO or WSS- based ROADMs) and architectural deployment (ring and mesh).

"Since we announced the acquisition in early October, the customer response has been excellent," comments Mike Pascoe, president and CEO of Meriton Networks. "The completion of this acquisition signals a new era of agile networking solutions, which deliver the necessary levels of mission flexibility, integration, interoperability, and cost-effectiveness."

"We are well on track with the integration of the companies," concludes Bill Gartner, COO of Meriton Networks. "With the massive growth in consumer broadband, as well as business Ethernet services, the timing for delivering a unified portfolio of high-speed networking products could not be better."
