APRIL 9, 2008 -- ECI Telecom (search for ECI Telecom) has signed a cooperative frame agreement with CJSC "Synterra," one of Russia's largest national telecommunications operators, for delivery of the XDM and BroadGate Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP) to support the carrier's 60,000-km network, one of Russia's largest nationwide transport networks.
ECI says its multiservice and multi-technology XDM platform will offer CJSC Synterra the convergence of Carrier Ethernet, SDH and "all-range" ROADMs onto a single platform. A variety of both legacy and new packet-based services will be deployed over CJSC Synterra's transport network via the XDM. CJSC "Synterra" is deploying ECI's 10-degree WSS ROADM in all major nodes.
ECI is CJSC Synterra's major network infrastructure equipment vendor, and therefore will establish an emergency stock warehouse for swift provisioning of packet-optical transport equipment to support the carrier's urgent deployment needs.
ECI also will offer ongoing technology seminars and updates to CJSC Synterra employees to educate them about the company's offerings and future developments.
"Based on our existing relationship with ECI, we are confident in their expertise and capabilities and look forward to continuing to work with them in deploying our network," said Vitaly Slizen, general manager of CJSC Synterra. "This long-term relationship, built on trust and the highest quality of product offerings, is a key component of ECI's success in the Russian market."
