JULY 25, 2008 -- Global multi-network operator Global Telecom & Technology Inc. has entered a strategic agreement with U.S.-based network provider FiberLight LLC to provide GTT with high-capacity metro transport in several strategic U.S. markets.
GTT says this agreement enables it to offer customers access to FiberLight's dense metro ring-based network, providing competitive, last-mile connectivity across the United States. FiberLight deploys high-capacity lit and dark fiber services in eight major U.S. metro locations, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Tampa, South Florida, and Washington D.C.

The partnership also allows FiberLight to purchase GTT's connectivity offerings in locations outside of its current fiber footprint. GTT will offer FiberLight its full breadth of WAN solutions and services. GTT says it has deployed services to customers in over 70 countries worldwide, many of whom terminate traffic in the United States.
"This agreement continues to drive home the value of the multi-network operator," contends Richard D. Calder, Jr., GTT's president and CEO. "This partnership with FiberLight strengthens our metro access position in several key U.S. markets, while providing FiberLight the benefits of our global footprint. FiberLight's rapid deployment of high-capacity services in competitive U.S. markets further emphasizes GTT's value in the market place."

"We are excited about our new partnership with GTT," adds Michael Miller, FiberLight CEO. "This agreement gives us instant access to a variety of European markets and, with the expansion of our wavelength, SONET, and Ethernet services in the metro markets, provides GTT customers with an outstanding network alternative."
