Alcatel including Cramer's Inventory Software in OSS integration

Jan. 18, 2003
17 January 2003 -- Alcatel is to include Cramer Systems' Cramer4 inventory software suite as part of its Operation Support System integration offering.

17 January 2003 -- An agreement has been signed enabling Alcatel to include the Cramer4 inventory software suite of Cramer Systems - based in Bath, UK - as part of its Operation Support System (OSS) integration offer. The integrated offering will provide wire-line and wireless carriers with a real-time, complete and accurate record of available network resources - at the physical, logical and service level.

Service providers are increasingly looking for suppliers capable of integrating full OSS solutions in their existing environments, Cramer says. By including the Cramer suite in its OSS offering, Alcatel's OSS integration offering now includes real-time inventory software, providing an accurate visibility and control of network capacity and resources across vast and complex multi-technology and multi-vendor networks.

"Alcatel's OSS solution including the Cramer4 suite for inventory management enables service providers not only to substantially reduce service delivery lead-times and costs, but also to reduce the incidence of 'stranded' assets and to provide a much more efficient response to faults in the network" said Pierre Dubost, OSS marketing director of Alcatel's integration and services activities. "Being an OSS integrator, the Cramer4 suite is a key part of our global OSS offering for multi-vendor and multi-domain networks."

Jerry Crook, CEO of Cramer Systems, said, "We are delighted that Alcatel chose Cramer4 to complement their OSS offer. Since we target the 'heart and the soul' of OSS ¿ efficiency, Alcatel's world-wide geographical presence will contribute to strengthen our respective market positions ".

This agreement further completes Alcatel's end-to-end OSS solutions integrating best in class partner products and in-house developed products.
