January 10, 2003--Telepak Networks has selected Memphis Networx to provide it with an alternate arrangement to enter the Memphis market via the latter's fiber-optic network. In addition, Memphis Networx will provide collocation space and services to Telepak Networks.

Telepak Networks, based in Jackson, MS, provides dedicated broadband services such as DS1, DS3, ATM, OC bandwidth, and other services to customers throughout Mississippi, as well as in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA; Mobile, AL; Pensacola, FL; and throughout the United States. The company's focus is on business customers.

"The move to Memphis is a natural progression for our company," stated Phil Rice, Telepak Network's sales and marketing director. "Memphis Networx will make expanding to this market a very cost-effective and smooth process for us because we will not have to go through the costly process of building a fiber network. Instead, we will utilize the high-quality capacity and other services of Memphis Networx, giving us instant connectivity in Memphis."

Memphis Networx offers a neutral fiber network for broadband, network-based service providers in Memphis. The Memphis Networx fiber network, which was lit this past summer following a construction schedule that came in on time and under budget, offers an end-to-end, redundant network with the full spectrum of SONET, Ethernet, and wavelength services on a flexible, protocol-neutral optical platform.

"Our goal is to provide Memphis companies a locally owned and operated choice for broadband and collocation services, and to provide access for companies to enter the Memphis market with their products and services," said Mark Ivie, Memphis Networx CEO.

The business relationship between Memphis Networx and Telepak Networks is not an exclusive arrangement and does not prevent Memphis Networx or Telepak Networks from additional channel partner relationships.
