diAx, a Swiss telecommunications company formed by sbc Communications, Swiss Re, and diAx holding, a consortium of Switzerland?s utilities, will use the Convergent Billing Platform of Burlington, MA-based Saville to provide customers with discounted packages of telecommunications products and services. diAx hopes the deal will help it compete with incumbent telecommunications provider Swisscom. diAx is building an 1800-km digital fiber-optic networking linking major Swiss cities and will enter the fixed line market and compete for a new global system for mobile communications license when it is made available this year.
