28 August 2002 -- London-based pan-European operator Interoute, which claims Europe's largest and most densely connected fibre network, is to provide managed capacity to WaveCrest Communications Ltd, a global communication wholesale carrier providing legacy and advanced voice services.
The two-year deal to provide high-speed connectivity linking Frankfurt to Milan, Vienna and Zurich will be managed and maintained by Interoute against a mutually agreed service level agreement for optimal performance.
"Interoute has a significant presence in Europe and can deliver capacity to the relevant locations quickly and at the right price," said WaveCrest CEO Phil Anderson. "This will enable us to concentrate on what we do best, giving customers high quality international voice services at competitive prices".
"This agreement clearly indicates there is still a buoyant market for capacity and managed services," claims Interoute CEO Alan Lowe. "The ability to offer capacity across a wholly owned, high quality, homogeneous network means that we can offer consistent levels of service."
