Kotura shifts packaging assembly to Asia

October 11, 2005 Monterey Park, CA -- Kotura, a provider of silicon photonic components, today announced that it has moved its packaging assembly operations to Asia, through a contract manufacturing agreement with Broadex Technologies.

October 11, 2005 Monterey Park, CA -- Kotura, a provider of silicon photonic components, today announced that it has moved its packaging assembly operations to Asia, through a contract manufacturing agreement with Broadex Technologies.

"We selected Broadex as our partner because of their manufacturing expertise, product quality, and strong management team," says Jean-Louis Malinge, CEO and president of Kotura. "This move represents Kotura's strategy to focus our internal resources on new product design."

Kotura designs, manufactures, and markets CMOS optical components that the company says enable optics to migrate throughout the communications industry. Located in Shanghai, China, Broadex Technologies provides design, testing, and manufacturing services for planar lightwave circuit (PLC) products, and is a supplier of splitters and optical components for the FTTH market.
