May 16, 2005 Merrimack, NH -- IP Networks (IPN), a facilities-based competitive local carrier in California, has selected Metrobility's Radiance E-Services platform, which the carrier says it will use to offer managed metro Ethernet services to enterprises in the San Francisco Bay area. Products selected included the company's Radiance Network Interface Device (NID), Central Service Platform, Premise Service Platform, and Gigabit Services Line Cards (SLCs).
The carrier says it will incorporate the equipment into its "legacy-free" fiber-optic network in order to provision and manage last mile Ethernet services for enterprise connectivity to data centers, remote offices, and carrier POPs. The company says its Radiance suite provides a secure, manageable Ethernet demarcation point between the carrier and its enterprise customers' networks, while providing remote troubleshooting and management features for reduced capital and operational expenditures, and service reliability.
"After a competitive review, we selected Metrobility Radiance management solutions for our last mile services because they provide the most comprehensive set of management capabilities, and are simple enough to ensure low operational expenses," affirms Robert Willis, vice president of IPN.
According to the company, the platform's array of operations, administration, and management features includes Quality of Line, Quality of Equipment, and Quality of Optical Amplitude monitoring, along with remote loopback and remote bandwidth management capabilities, which the company says will enable the carrier to maintain comprehensive service levels agreements with its enterprise customers.
"Metrobility enables network builders to offer carrier-class services for voice, video, and data to end users," concludes Alex Saunders, CEO of Metrobility. "We view our Radiance line of solutions as important enabling technology for service providers wishing to cost-effectively roll out, manage, and maximize revenue returns from Ethernet services."
