JULY 29, 2008 -- Several months ago, IGI Consulting (search for IGI Consulting) announced a joint venture with Amesbury Consulting to provide a new Dark Fiber Location Service in any city in the U.S. Based on customer feedback, this joint venture has developed a new service, dubbed "FIBERSHOT," to meet the demands of it customers. FIBERSHOT is a service that provides, for a one time fee, the location of dark and lit fiber in any city in the U.S.
According to the consulting firms, FIBERSHOT is a telecommunications fiber network planning tool. It shows the fiber that is accessible to a site or address, the streets along which the cables run, and metro networks in the region.
The main purpose of the primary databases that FIBERSHOT draws from is to lease dark and dim fiber to carriers and the enterprise. This insures that the database is maintained, current, and accurate, say the companies.
FIBERSHOT also features:
• GPS MapInfo database of 100+ carriers in 120+ metro markets;
• A comprehensive package of three views: site, street, and metro;
• Ease of ordering and paying online, deliverable as an easy-to-use .pdf file; and
• Quick turnaround and scalability.
