Russian fiber

Bank Petrovsky, one of Russia`s leading banks, has upgraded its operations with a fiber-optic network provided by Metrocom, a joint venture between Orland Park, IL-based Andrew Corp. and the St. Petersburg Metropolitan Subway system. Metrocom worked with the bank to interconnect bank branches and the central office. The solution involves a digital fiber-optic synchronous digital hierarchy network that enables the bank to exchange information in seconds rather than hours. By using integrated access nodes, the common bank network can connect to bankomats, videoconference facilities and video monitoring security systems.
