Lightwave Microsystems of Santa Clara, CA, has received $10.1 million in a second round of venture funding. With the first, $8.2 million round of funding, the company established an optical integrated circuit fabrication line to produce prototype circuits for its telecommunications, networking, and cable-TV customers. Lightwave Microsystems intends to use the second round of funding to complete its development and lead the company into mass production of optical integrated circuit devices.
