On April 8, Cyient announced the launch of Cyient Semiconductors, a wholly owned subsidiary focused on delivering turnkey Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) solutions. The newly formed subsidiary will build on Cyient’s 25-year legacy in ASIC development.
The move marks a strategic expansion of the company’s semiconductor capabilities and a response to the growing global demand for specialized semiconductor solutions.
Krishna Bodanapu, executive vice chairman and managing director at Cyient, said the company’s vision is to help build a robust semiconductor ecosystem in India.
“With the growing demand for high-performance semiconductor solutions, Cyient Semiconductors will play a crucial role in providing end-to-end ASIC turnkey and IC design services, supporting India’s journey toward self-reliance in the semiconductor ecosystem,” said Bodanapu in a press release.
Suman Narayan has been appointed CEO of Cyient Semiconductors. Cyient reports that Narayan brings extensive leadership experience in the semiconductor industry, including expertise in scaling operations and driving digital transformation.
“India is on the cusp of a semiconductor revolution, and Cyient is well-positioned to be at the forefront of this transformation,” said Narayan in the same press release. “With our deep domain expertise, we will continue to empower global and domestic clients with high-value solutions. We firmly believe that the new semiconductor subsidiary will drive next-generation innovations meeting the requirements of our customers.”
