The company reports the collaboration will enable advancements in AI and cloud infrastructure.

On December 2, Marvell Technology, Inc. announced that it has expanded its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) through a five-year agreement that will see the companies collaborate on AWS products and cloud infrastructure. Marvell reports that its silicon technologies will advance AWS’s data center compute, networking, and storage offerings.

AWS will deploy Marvell semiconductors, including custom AI products, optical digital signal processors (DSPs), active electrical cable (AEC) DSPs, PCIe retimers, and data center interconnect (DCI) optical modules. Marvell further reports that it will use AWS’s scalable compute capabilities to accelerate silicon designs.

AWS CEO Matt Garman said leading-edge semiconductors are necessary to meet the company’s infrastructure needs.

“Our expanded collaboration with Marvell enables us to deploy our comprehensive semiconductor portfolio and specialized networking hardware to advance our mission to provide the industry’s most robust and scalable cloud and AI services to our customers,” said Garman in a press release.

Marvell chairman and CEO Matt Murphy said the deepening of the relationship between Marvell and AWS is a significant milestone.

“AWS’s electronic design automation (EDA) solutions will help Marvell rapidly and securely scale our silicon design process and capabilities to deliver industry-leading accelerated infrastructure with best-in-class time to market,” said Murphy in the same press release.
