3 February 2004 Richardson, TX Lightwave -- Telepak Networks of Jackson, MS, has selected White Rock Networks as one of its optical transport vendors. Initially, White Rock will supply its VLX2020 Next Generation SONET and VLX1010 DWDM systems for a two-state expansion of Telepak's backbone transport network.

The initial network, which spans over 500 mi, is a multi-wavelength design using White Rock's VLX2020 OC-48/192 SONET add/drop multiplexer (configured with fully tunable OC-192 optics), as well as White Rock's VLX1010 DWDM system. To meet the extended span distances required by Telepak's network topology, White Rock also supplied intelligent optical amplifiers. All elements of the network will be managed by White Rock's VLXpert Element Management System.

Telepak Networks is a network service provider of broadband products and services via a fiber-optic network. The carrier specializes in offering the bandwidth necessary for Internet solutions, data networking and telecommunication services to other carriers, ISPs, universities, governmental agencies, hospitals and businesses.
