APRIL 27, 2004 Stockholm--Lumentis AB announces that its carrier-grade optical wavelength platform has been selected by Stokab, the largest fiber carrier in the Stockholm region, to provide a redundant 8 wavelength network between Stockholm and Visby, Gotland.

"With the successful implementation of Lumentis equipment in our Metronet, we have secured full redundancy from Gotland by using one pair of fiber from another actor. With Lumentis equipment that pair of fiber can be used by several of our customers" says Staffan Lundgren, chief executive at Stokab.

Stokab is owned by the City of Stockholm and was established in 1994 for the purpose of laying the foundation for an effective IT environment and stimulating growth. Stokabs operations are divided into following two business areas; network owner which provides access to Stokabs network through dark fiber, connection points, antenna sites and radio networks. Network operator (for the City of Stockholm), which consists of ownership, development and management of services, support and maintenance of Stockholm City's internal networks.
