CoreOptics taps Santur's tunable laser for use in dispersion tolerant transponders

September 9, 2004 Fremont, CA -- CoreOptics, manufacturer of dispersion tolerant optical subsystems, has selected Santur Corp. to be its main supplier of tunable lasers for the company's first release of dispersion tolerant transponders.

"Santur's highly reliable, DFB [distributed feedback] array-based tunable laser technology, as well as its proven management team, gives CoreOptics the confidence that its customer requirements for widely tunable transponders for the optical industry will be fully satisfied," asserts Hamid Arabzadeh, CoreOptics president and CEO. "We are delighted to work with Santur to support CoreOptics' continued success with the top tier-1 system providers, to enable the building of open and tolerant optical networks by delivering a new class of dispersion tolerant transponders with advanced digital signal processing remedy for the physical layer impairments."
