September 23, 2004 Cary, NC, and Raanana, Israel -- Coventor Inc. has signed a new distribution agreement with E.G. Design Solutions Ltd. (EGDS) of Israel to provide CoventorWare MEMS design software to the region. EGDS is a distributor of electronic design automation (EDA) and development software in Israel with strong relationships in telecommunications, military and aerospace.

EGDS has seen robust growth in research and development of MEMS technology in Israel since its inception in 2001. CoventorWare MEMS design software was selected for its large installed base worldwide, awareness of diverse fabrication processes, and excellent reputation among MEMS developers, say EGDS representatives.

"The MEMS industry in Israel has grown to more than 30 companies, Universities, and other professional services," reports EGDS general manager, Eli Goldmann. "Many companies began approaching MEMS using other CAD tools. Yet as the industry grows, there is a recognizable need for MEMS-specific design tools. Coventor is the natural leader in this sector," he adds.

EGDS was founded in 2001 to represent large software vendors that were consolidating sales and support teams. The distributor now provides more than a 20 major software products to Israel in a single-source environment.
