VCSEL startup Alight Technologies gets new funding

August 11, 2004 Copenhagen -- Alight Technologies A/S today announced that it has closed a second round of financing totaling € 2.1 million. The investment secures liquidity for the company to bring new optical transmitter solutions to market.

August 11, 2004 Copenhagen -- Alight Technologies A/S today announced that it has closed a second round of financing totaling € 2.1 million. The investment secures liquidity for the company to bring new optical transmitter solutions to market.

The investment was led by Innfond, with participation from existing investors DTU-Innovation and V æ kstfonden.

Alight Technologies designs and manufacturer highly optimized VCSEL laser structures with high singlemode output power.

"Alight has proven their strong technology base for next-generation optical transmitters," asserts Claus Melgaard, CEO of InnFond. "Increased output power and significant cost reduction will drive optical communication closer to end-users in the coming years, and Alight is well positioned to become a market leader for optical transmitters."
