FEBRUARY 3, 2011 – OptoTest has roughly doubled the size of its workplace, now measuring 11,000 sq. ft. and housing state-of-the-art testing and training specifically for insertion and return loss testing of multi-fiber termination push-on (MTP) connectors. OptoTest officials cite rapid growth and increased revenues as key factors in the expansion.

“The MTP/ribbon fiber market has grown dramatically in the past few years. With the new recent applications of the MTP connector, not only for networks, but also for computers, aerospace connectors; and of course the continued growth seen with 40/100GbE, the growth for our multi-fiber equipment product line has just started. With this expansion, OptoTest will continue to maintain its leadership in fiber optic testing systems,” says Richard Buerli, president of OptoTest.
The firm’s growth has been spurred by the recent launches of three new products: OP280, Remote Head Integrating Sphere, and OP931.
