JDS Uniphase Acquires Optical Process Automation

Feb. 21, 2001--JDS Uniphase Corporation announced that it has acquired Optical Process Automation, Inc. (OPA) in a transaction accounted for as a purchase.

JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ:JDSU and TSE:JDU) announced that it has acquired Optical Process Automation, Inc. (OPA) in a transaction accounted for as a purchase. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Florida, OPA also has operations in Asheville, North Carolina. OPA designs and manufactures automated and semi-automated systems for the manufacture of fiber optic components and modules. OPA will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of JDS Uniphase.
