Light Management Group Inc. to install fiber-optic switches on Empyrean network

Light Management Group Inc. announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Empyrean Communications, Inc. to form a business-and-technology alliance.

Light Management Group Inc. (OTCBB:LMGR) announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Empyrean Communications, Inc. ("Empyrean"), of Houston, Texas, to form a business-and-technology alliance in which Empyrean will employ LMGR's revolutionary fiber-optical switch over Empyrean's United States-wide broadband networks, starting with that company's Atlanta-to-New York network.

LMGR's fiber-optical switch, employing LMGR's unique acousto-optic designs, can form the basis of an optimal fiber-optical line communication network. The optical lines utilizing LMGR's proprietary switch can carry 10 Gigabytes of information per second, in comparison to 50 Kbyts over phone lines. LMGR's Fiber-Optical Line Switch does not have any mechanical parts and uses the electronically and computer-controlled acousto-optical deflector set, which can randomly connect the channels from the array to the single fiber-optical line, resulting in extremely fast switching times of not more than a few microseconds.

Empyrean is an International Broadband provider capable of delivering multiple OC-48 to OC-192 capacity to bandwidth users who are geared to the implementation and management of scalable virtual private network (VPN) solutions. Currently Empyrean and its strategic partners have available fiber in New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas, with Los Angeles expected to be lit up in March 2001. In addition, the company brings extensive applications expertise and unique financial knowledge to the market place. As a result of this expertise, Empyrean is currently providing financial resources to the users of an International Financial Network, which has been developed and designed to deliver private and secure communications to the international markets. Initially this market is expected to accommodate the needs of 10 individual countries with expectations of considerable growth over the next two years.

Financial terms of the LMGR-Empyrean alliance were not disclosed.
