IntelliSpace, an Ethernet IP broadband services provider, and LuxN, Inc., a provider of multi-service optical transport solutions, will team up to develop and deliver fiber optic-based broadband applications to metro customers throughout the United States and Europe.

IntelliSpace is using LuxN's Optical Service Level Management (OSLM) platform which is based on LuxN's patented technique for optical signal integrity monitoring -- ColorSim. This optical-layer technology enables IntelliSpace to enhance customer service level agreements (SLAs) by monitoring bit-error rates in real-time at multi-gigabit speed, regardless of data protocol. IntelliSpace can detect signal degradation at the physical layer and respond before customers are adversely affected, producing the highest quality of service reliability.

By utilizing LuxN's wave division multiplexing technology, IntelliSpace can also leverage its own fiber plants to maximize the use of its ultra high-speed network for its customers. IntelliSpace is using the LuxN technology to support a variety of offerings, including: OC-/48, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and other transparent services. IntelliSpace plans to use the LuxN equipment throughout its operations in the US and Europe.
