Xanoptix and Tyco Electronics link for sales and marketing

October 15, 2002--Xanoptix, a maker of high-speed optical connection products, and Tyco Electronics have signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar joint strategic business agreement to promote Xanoptix's XTM Series of optical transceiver products.

October 15, 2002--Xanoptix (www.xanoptix.com,), a maker of high-speed optical connection products, and Tyco Electronics (www.tycoelectronics.com/fiberoptics) have signed a multi-year, multi-million dollar joint strategic business agreement to promote Xanoptix's XTM Series of optical transceiver products.

The alliance is designed to enable Xanoptix and Tyco Electronics to provide parallel optics transceiver modules utilizing optically integrated circuit technology with fused silicon chips and high-performance active optics. Tyco Electronics will manufacture transceivers with Xanoptix technology under terms of the agreement.

The XTM Series comprises parallel optics transceiver modules that offer up to 72 channels terminated in a single MT-style fiber-optic connector with up to 245-Gbit/sec aggregate bandwidth. The resultant family of products will address a wide range of applications in telecom, datacom, computing, and data storage.
