DenseLight Semiconductors Pte Ltd., a solutions provider of high-performance InP-based photonics integrated circuits, announced the appointment of William H. Diamond Jr. as chief executive officer (CEO). Diamond succeeds Dr. YeeLoy Lam, who remains the company's chief technology officer.
Diamond brings over 20 years of industry experience and leadership to DenseLight.
Most recently, he was CEO and president of Wavesplitter Technologies, where he led the company's expansion into PLC technology and joint development programs with
NEC, Infineon and GemFire. He was also a proponent of process automation in fiber- optic technology and partnered with Matsushita in Japan for automation development.
Prior to WaveSplitter, Diamond was vice president of marketing and product management at Etek Dynamics (now JDS Uniphase), joining the company prior to its successful IPO in December 1998. Diamond also spent six years with Lucent Technologies as director of marketing for the Optoelectronics Business Unit in Breinigsville, PA., with four years in Europe as marketing director, and sales director for Microelectronics Europe and general manager for AT&T Microelectronics UK.
Diamond spent nearly nine years with Lasertron (now Corning), where he rose through the ranks as business development manager, device operations director, North America sales manager, and managing director of Lasertron Europe.
His vast experience and leadership in the optoelectronics space spans both active and passive components, an attribute that is extremely important to convey the value of present and future product solutions to DenseLight's existing and future customers.
