November 18, 2002--Opto Speed, a developer and manufacturer of high-value-added optoelectronic modules, announced the beginning of a distribution agreement with Broadtechs Electronics Co. Ltd, a Chinese distributor of electronic and optoelectronic components and subassemblies for the major telecom equipment and device manufacturers, consumer electronics devices manufacturers, and information technology (IT) appliances manufacturers.

Opto Speed, a developer and manufacturer of high-value-added optoelectronic modules for communications, test & measurement, medical and defense markets, announced the beginning of a distribution agreement with Broadtechs Electronics Co. Ltd, a Chinese distributor of electronic and optoelectronic components and subassemblies for the major telecom equipment and device manufacturers, consumer electronics devices manufacturers, and information technology (IT) appliances manufacturers.

Broadtechs Electronics will distribute Opto Speed's family of high-speed lasers, photodetectors, monolithically integrated PIN/TIA/Postamp optical front-ends, semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) and superluminescent light emitting diodes (SLEDs), regionally, through its sales and application support organization.

Opto Speed's technology offers transceiver manufacturers a complementary set of 2.5, 10, and 40 Gbits/sec photodetectors, Fabry Perot and DFB lasers at both 1300-nm and-1550 nm wavelengths, as well as 1300-nm and 1550-nm SOAs. Opto Speed also designs and manufactures high power, high bandwidth super-luminescent light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for applications in communications as well as the medical, the lighting and test and measurement sectors.

Opto Speed has also developed an optical front end that a 40-Gbits/sec photodiode with electronic transimpedance and postamplifiers with differential output monolithically integrated on a single Indium Phospate chip. The integrated optical front end is one of the first commercially available monolithically integrated optical components and is currently being tested by several potential customers.
