Interoute, owner and operator of one of Europe's largest and most densely connected fibre-optic networks, announced that it has signed a three-year partnership agreement with Dimension Data, a technology services company, to deliver fully-managed network solutions to large multi-site enterprises in Europe. Together, they will jointly offer customers comprehensive network solutions that integrate local- and wide-area network services.

The aim of the partnership is to tightly integrate each party's services and create network solutions that offer customers better levels of service and functionality than currently available.

"Dimension Data and Interoute believe the enterprise market will be better served by partnerships between network service providers and IT service providers," says Russell Bolan, UK chief executive officer for Dimension Data. "Interoute's wholly owned and operated network, with its significant scale and reach, presents us with an opportunity to combine our shared skills to provide this tailored business solution. In addition, the intelligence Interoute has built into the network is ideally suited to support the delivery of mission critical applications over a networked environment, the cornerstone of Dimension Data's expertise."

"Our network will support application-based SLAs, ensuring that customers achieve greater business efficiencies," says Alan Lowe, chief executive officer at Interoute. "In today's market, it is essential that operators and integrators forge closer links, with both parties fully focused on providing the best possible services to customers. This is one of a number of partnerships that we are currently establishing, as part of our strategy to become a major player in the delivery of value-added networking services to the enterprise sector."

Services to be offered include fully managed data networks, Internet access and content hosting. Customers will also benefit from access to a network-monitoring portal enabling them to monitor the network and raise service requests.
