IP Infusion, Dataduct Networks, and FONEX collaborate to upgrade Nova Scotia’s broadband fiber network
On December 10, IP Infusion announced that it is partnering with solution integrator and managed service operator Dataduct Networks and open networking provider FONEX to modernize Nova Scotia’s fiber network. The upgrade will include scalability and resiliency features and will ultimately allow the integration of hardware from multiple vendors.
IP Infusion, which last year partnered with NTT DATA to expand its network disaggregation offerings, will deploy its OcNOS advanced networking software as part of the upgrade.
IP Infusion reported that new network capabilities will include Ethernet VPN (EVPN), Segment Routing MPLS (SR-MPLS), and tools to support traffic engineering, network slicing, and security protocols.
IP Infusion president and CEO Atsushi Ogata said the company’s networking software transforms the value proposition for network upgrades.
“Built on open computing standards, OcNOS guarantees both immediate value and long-term stability,” said Ogata in a press release.
FONEX CEO Pasquale Di Pierro praised the open networking solutions, saying their flexibility proved invaluable in the upgrade, and Dataduct CEO Richard Bourret said the project demonstrates the importance of selecting the right software for complex networking challenges.
