Bluebonnet Fiber to expand broadband access in South Texas with USDA partnership
On July 2, Bluebonnet Fiber announced that it has partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to expand broadband access to rural households and communities in South Texas.
Bluebonnet president of operations, Wyatt Ciomperlik, said in a press release, “Our partnership with the USDA will help us better address the unique challenges faced by rural communities in South Texas and ensure that our plans align with the needs and expectations of local residents. We’re committed to providing reliable, high-speed internet access to everyone, regardless of where they live.”
Bluebonnet is now engaging in pre-construction efforts and reports that an estimated 6,684 residents across Duval, Frio, Jim Hogg, La Salle, and Zavala Counties will benefit from the expansion project. The company is also conducting a survey of residents in the impacted areas.
