KIT digital announced that Volkswagen will use the KIT Video Platform to deliver interactive "red button" television advertising. In the VW campaign, viewers press the red button and arrive to a "digital showroom" where they can view the new Beetle prototype. The KIT Video Platform, a cloud-based video asset management system, powers the digital showroom, allowing viewers to interact with animated graphics and select features to see what their ideal Beetle model would look like. The technology provides metrics for marketers by also including a feature directly from the application for interested viewers to set up a test drive and interact with their local dealership. In addition, viewers can choose from 170 different videos about Volkswagen and its products, and then switch back to the live TV programming from which the red button was pushed.
