According to an online survey of 4,205 pay TV subscribers by the NPD Group, 21% of pay TV subscribers use TV Everywhere services offered by their provider at least once per month.
The research house says consumers who subscribe to OTT subscription VOD are not cutting the cord, but rather are among the most active TV Everywhere users. Three out of four SVOD homes also have a pay TV subscription, and 25% use their provider’s TV Everywhere service at least once per month.
Not only are dual SVOD and pay TV subscribers more likely to have tried TV Everywhere, they are also using it more frequently. Some 30% of SVOD subscribers use TV Everywhere weekly, compared to only 20% of TV Everywhere users who do not subscribe to SVOD.
